We have been asked a lot recently about they type of advanced training we provided in relation to recruiting and managing confidential informants (human sources,) so here are ten points to give you an idea.
This training assumes that and agency has in place effective systems to recruit and mange high risk sources.
The training is adapted to meet the needs of the agency. We train national and local law enforcement, and we train intelligence agencies and military. We adapt the course to your needs.
Officers attending need an open mind. Much of what they may think they know about this work may be challenged. The course is challenging and thought provoking.
The training involves an extensive amount of self analysis. If you can’t manage yourself how can you mange another person. If you don’t know yourself, you can easily be manipulated.
We well spend a lot of time delving into basic communication skills. Students are often surprised how bad their communication is when it is put under a spotlight and objective analysed.
A lot of the training is about the practical application of psychology. We take what the psychologists know and show students how to use it in recruiting and managing human sources.
We spend a lot of time in classroom role plays. We let students see how thy can control and be controlled and we explain what control is.
At the end of the training students have a lot more skills that enables them to manage hig value confidential informants..
We will talk about proactive recruitment the targeting and cultivating of high level criminals and terrorists to get them to give us the information we need.
We will talk about cognitive debriefing - getting the maximum amount of quality information form the informants we have.
